Kharphocho Fort; King of Forts

During the war against the Dogra, who were the rulers of the region during the partition of the subcontinent, local forces realized the strategic location of the fort in the town. They occupied the fort to keep an eye on the entrance and exit points of Skardu city.

Nowadays, the fort is open to tourists. Visitors need to climb to the top of the mountain where the fort is located. The old-fashioned infrastructure of the fort includes dozens of small and large rooms covered by a large boundary wall.
