Attabad Lake is a lake located in the Gojal region of Hunza Valley in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan. It was created in January 2010 as the result of a major landslide in Attabad. The lake has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Gilgit−Baltistan, offering activities like boating, jet-skiing, fishing and other recreational activities.

It has been a hotspot for tourists which come to Gilgit Baltistan for over a long time. It was formed as a result of an earthquake. But we might not be able to enjoy the calmness and serenity of the accidental Lake” lake after some time. So, enjoy the beauty of this beautiful lake while it lasts.

Attabad lake the ACCIDENTAL LAKE:

The lake was formed in 2010 as a result of an earthquake. The landslide blocked the Hunza river for five months. It completely flooded shishkat. the lake is about 19 km in length and is about 100 m deep. It is formed by the ice cold waters of hunza river. About 19nkm of karakoram highway has been submerged by the water of lake.
